Our Mission

Our Mission is to provide funding for resources necessary to support and enrich the educational experience of the students, faculty and staff of Lake Forest High School.

The Lake Forest High School Foundation was formed in 2002 when eleven members of the community joined with the District 115 Board of Education and Lake Forest High School administration to form a partnership.  This new partnership would have one goal:  to provide funding for resources necessary to support and enrich the educational experience of the students, faculty and staff of Lake Forest High School.

Today, our Mission remains the same.  Over the last eight years, the Foundation has awarded over 150 grants, totaling $950,000 to faculty and staff across every department in the high school.  We also collaborate with other parent organizations to funds areas of mutual interest.  These include organizations such as the APT, Applause, and the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Learning Disabilities Association.

The generous support of our donors advances the Foundation's goal of providing a better educational experience for all Lake Forest High School students.  We receive donations from the entire Lake Forest and Lake Bluff community: parents of current and former students, alumni, and community members and businesses.

Since 2002, the Lake Forest High School Foundation has funded grants for:

  • New instructional technologies, equipment and materials in the core curriculum and elective subjects and in the library and other common areas
  • Fitness and other learning readiness programs
  • Departmental curriculum reviews and development
  • Cultural presentations, programs and performances
  • Faculty and staff professional development
