Did You Know? LFHS Foundation Enhances Productions in the Theaters at LFHS
Over the last two decades the LFHS Foundation has supported numerous grants that have provided upgrades to our theater spaces. Two recent significant grants toward these spaces include sound system upgrades in both spaces in 2020 and the addition of two incredible intelligent lights for the RMA in 2022. The sound system upgrades were not only necessary but provided a new sound board that dramatically enhances the learning opportunities and capacity of the tech crew. The intelligent lights allow for lighting design that is next level for all productions as you can see in the video clip from last weekend’s production of A Wrinkle in Time. These two grants represent a $113,065 investment in educational excellence. Learn more about the impact we’ve had on the theaters in our November 2021 Spotlight, https://conta.cc/3jP7MfK. Did You Know? LFHS Foundation grants greatly enhanced the offerings of the Art department at LFHS. One major example of this is the multiple grants that created the current Digital Arts Lab. Over the past decade, the Foundation has granted a class set of digital cameras, MacBooks, iPad Pros and Apple Pencils, software, and even new display panels and stands. These and other grants have transformed not only the graphic design, animation and photography courses but have also expanded the techniques explored in more traditional classes like painting and drawing. Drawing & Painting Students are currently using the iPad Pros for creating Digital Doodles to enter for the 2024 Doodle4Google Contest! The theme this year is "My wish for the next 25 years" and some students are even adding animations to their theme ideas.
